Bangladesh cultural team returns from Nigeria

A cultural team from Bangladesh has recently returned from Abuja, Nigeria. The 19-member Bangladesh cultural team participated in the cultural events on November 23 at "Bangladesh Day" of the ‘12th International Arts and Crafts Expo 2019’, at the invitation of the ‘Nigerian Council of Arts and Crafts’. This cultural group participated in two more programmes, under the management of the Ministry of Culture, Government of Bangladesh. 

The Bangladesh Cultural Party won the hearts of Nigerian audience at the "Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti" on November 24 at the Bangladesh High Commission, Nigeria and at the International Expo Center on November 26. It is to be noted that diplomats from 20 countries were present at Nigeria Bangladesh Cultural Night.

The leader of the Bangladesh cultural team was Ataur Rahman, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh, his assistant was PRO Faisal Hossain of the same Ministry and Shamima Akhtar Jahan, Deputy Director of the Department of Music and Dance of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Among the members of the cultural team were Salma Akbar, Shafiq Tuhin, Yasmin Ali, Avro Nakrek, Samuel Soren and Joy Shahriar. Musical instruments were played by Debu Chowdhury, Gazi Abdul Hakim, Abhijit Chakraborty Jitu, Kazi Jobaer Kaiser Pavel, Nazrul Islam. Shammi Yasmin Zhinuk, Sangeeta Chowdhury, Rasel Ahmed, Rahina Zaman Sukanya and Afrin Nipu were the dancers.

Shamim Ahsan, Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Nigeria, commented that the visit of Bangladesh cultural team will play a positive role in the friendly relations between Bangladesh and Nigeria.
