Bangladesh beat Argentina in Bangabandhu Cup int’l Kabaddi

Defending champions Bangladesh continued their winning streak in the Bangabandhu Cup Int'l Kabaddi tournament with a facile 72-33 win against Argentina in the 3rd match of the day held on Tuesday at national volleyball stadium in the city's Paltan.

Bangladesh's technical and tactical edge proved too much for the Latin opponents who hardly countered the raids and the defence ring of the hosts. Bangladesh raiders comfortably returned to their den with precise touch and sidekicks and the defenders built a solid web to catch the Argentine raiders all through the match.

Mizanur Rahman of Bangladesh was adjudged as the man of the match and received TK 10,000.

Bangladesh who beat Poland 50-22 in their first match of the tournament, has a rest day tomorrow on Wednesday. Argentina suffered their second consecutive defeats after 56-28 loss to Iraq.

Earlier, in the day's first match, Indonesia made winning start as they beat Malaysia by 36-23 points in their opening Group B match of the tournament also held at the same venue.

The winners' led the first half by 18-9 points.

While Thailand opened their tournament campaign with a hard fought 36-32 points win over Sri Lanka after leading the first half by 20-16 points.
