Bangladesh Ansar celebrates Fisheries Week

Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force celebrated the Fisheries Week at Gazipur Safipur on the occasion of National Fisheries Week with the slogan “A country full of safe fish, Bangabandhu's Bangladesh”. On Thursday afternoon, the Director General of the Army, Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan, NDC, PSC inaugurated the "National Fisheries Week 2022" by releasing fish fry in the reservoirs of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy.

At that time, Additional Director General of Forces Brigadier General Khondkar Farid Hasan, BGBM, PBGM (Bar), NDC, Commandant Additional Director General of Ansar-VDP Academy Md. Samshul Alam and Deputy Director Generals along with directors and officers of different levels of forces were present.

Later, 16 different species of fish were released in Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Academy. Apart from this, the Fisheries Week is also celebrated by releasing fish fry in the reservoirs of various units of the force. 

To contribute to the economic development of the country including socio-economic development, the director general of the army called on the grassroots members of the army to cultivate fish in their own ponds and reservoirs and encourage the general public to participate spontaneously in fish farming.
