Bangla Bandha Land port resumed its operation from June-13 after a 75-day of the break.
According to sources, in presence of the district and the upazila administration officials, representatives of the businessmen and the labourers' organisations of the port, the import and export activities covering four-countries resumed at the Bangla Bandha land port from Saturday.
Due to declared lock-down amid Coronavirus pandemic, all activities of the port remained suspended for last 75-day. However, the port activities resumed in obedience with 11-point instructions including maintenance of all health rules.
It is learnt, after a meeting of the Land port authorities held at the conference room of the port on Thursday, a decision was taken to resume activities of the Land port. Presided over by Sabina Yeasmin, Deputy Commissioner of Panchgarch, the meeting was attended, among others, by Yousuf Ali, Superintendent of Police, Lieutenant Colonel Anisur Rahman, Commander of 18 BGB battalion, Anowar Sadat Samrat, Chairman of Zila Parishad, Sharif Hossain, President of Panchgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mehedi Hasan Khan Babla, President of Importers and Exporters Association of Panchgarh.
The 11-point directives include- the foreign truck drivers will not be allowed to stop their vehicles on the way and deport from their vehicles except for emergencies and they will not be allowed to stay in Bangladesh and there should be separate entrance and exit routes for the foreign drivers.
