The Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Gold Cup football tournament has been suspended due to heavy rain in Khanjanmara Government Primary School in Rowmari upazila of Kurigram. Heavy rains in the last few days have destroyed the school grounds and created a deep ditch.

Due to lack of drainage system and guide wall, about half of the field was broken due to heavy rainfall near the pond on the east side of the field. As a result, the Bangamata Fazilatun Nesh Gold Cup football tournament is closed due to overcrowding. If not repaired quickly, the school building next door will also be at risk.

In this regard, Jahangir Alam, headmaster of Khanjanmara Government Primary School, said that part of the field was destroyed due to continuous rain in the last few days. As a result, Bangamata Gold Cup game is closed. I am seeking the attention of the authorities to raise the issue.

Bandaber UP Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Alhaj Abdul Quader said, LGSP has been allocated for the school ground guide wall from Union Parishad and work is also in progress. Work on the guide wall is closed due to natural disasters. As a result, some parts of the field are already broken due to rain.
