Historic March 7 celebration at Ctg Port

Bangabandhu’s speech is an inspiration to freedom-seeking people

Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) initiated various programs on the occasion of historic 7th March. At the beginning of the day, board members and department heads along with CPA Chairman placed wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman installed in front of Bandar Bhavan on Thursday morning.

A discussion meeting was held on the historic occasion of March 7 at Shaheed Md. Fazlur Rahman Munsi Auditorium in which Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail was present as the chief guest.  

Besides, CPA board members, departmental heads, sub-departmental heads, heads of educational institutions, CBA leaders, port officials and students of educational institutions were present in the event. 

In the discussion, Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail, at the beginning of his speech, remembered the greatest Bengali father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with deep respect.He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 speech is an example for the whole world and an inspiration for all oppressed and freedom-seeking people.  

It was through his speech that the entire nation was inspired in 1971 and plunged into the freedom war.  

He prayed for the forgiveness of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war of independence and all the martyred members of his family including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 15th August and remembered with deep respect all the officers and employees of Chittagong port who were martyred in the war of liberation.

 At the end of the discussion meeting, CPA Chairman distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions held with the students of various educational institutions and enjoyed a wonderful cultural program with the participation of the students of the educational institutions on Bangabandhu's life and love for the country.
