The Chittagong Port Authority has celebrated the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in various programmes throughout the day.
On this occasion, a colorful fair was held in and around the port building on Wednesday. Port Secretary Md Omar Faruq said the port's program included siren sounding on all ships at the same time in the early hours of the day, hoisting the national flag in front of the port building, paying homage to Bangabandhu's portrait, fireworks, cake cutting, discussion meeting at Shaheed Munshi Fazlur Rahman Auditorium and mosque photo, Doa mahfil, distribution of improved food in the hospital, cultural programs etc.
Port Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, Member (Administration and Planning) Md Zafar Alam, senior officials, CBA leaders and staff of various departments took part in the programme.
