The 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day was observed in different upazilas and districts in a befitting manner on Sunday, report correspondents.
Local administration and district administration took out various programmes including hoisting the national flag, discussion meeting and placing floral wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu.
Our Correspondents report: The 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day was observed in a befitting manner in Narail on Sunday. Marking the day, the national flag wass hoisted atop all buildings of the government, semi government, autonomous dodies and private organizations and educational institutions in the district. District administration and people from all walks of life placed wreathes at Bangabandhu’s memorial on the DC office premises in the morning.
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) conference room with DC Muhammad Ashfaqul Haque Chawdhury in the chair. Police Super Md Mehedi Hasan, Civil Surgeon Dr Sadeja Begum Palin, Zila Parishad chairman and district AL president Advocate Subash Chandra Bose, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-general) Shashoti Shil, Sadar UNO Sharmin Akter, were present, among others, on the occasion.
An art competition and cultural programme with the participation of children was held at Shishu Academy. Special prayers offered at different mosques, temples, churches and other religious institutions to seek eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members.
Improved diet will be served at all hospitals, orphanage centers and jail in the Iftar time to mark the day.
Jamalpur Correspondent reports: The 104th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day was observed in the district in a befitting manner Sunday.
Besides, poem recitation and painting competition, Milad and Doa Mahfil, cultural function, documentary film screening and lighting important places were held marking the day. Md Abul Kalam Azad, MP, flanked by Deputy Commissioner Md Shafiur Rahman, Zila Parishad chairman Advocate Mohammad Baki Billah and Superintendent of Police Md Kamruzzaman placed floral wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu at the district Muktijoddha Complex premises in the town. Besides, the police administration, zila parishad, Awami League, freedom fighters, government officials, educational institutes, press club and Jamalpur municipality placed floral wreaths.
A discussion meeting was held at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium with deputy commissioner Md Shafiur Rahman in the chair. Local lawmaker Md Abul Kalam Azad was present at the meeting as chief guest.
Chuadanga Correspondent writes: People of Chuadanga district celebrated the 104th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2024 in a befitting manner on Sunday.
Chuadanga District Awami League, its affiliated organisations, District Administration, Upazila Administration, Educational Institutes and cultural organisations chalked out elaborate programmes including hoisting of national flag, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujbur Rahman, cultural competitions, painting competitions, discussion meetings, and supplying improve diet to the inmates of hospitals, jails, orphanages and shishu poribar on the day. National flag was hoisted atop all government and private buildings, business establishments, educational institutes and offices before sun rise.
Members of District Awami League, officials of District Administration and Police Department placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Educational Institutes, Shishu Academy and Shilpakala Academy arranged cultural completions including painting on the day.
Special prayers were offered for progress of the nation, peace and blessing for soul of Bangabandhu and his family members at mosques, temples and churches.
A discussion meeting was held at DC Saheetya Monch on the day. The meeting was presided over by Sharmin Akhter, ADC. It was addressed by Nazimuddin Al Azad, ASP, Mahfuzur Rahman Monzu, Chairman of Zela Parishad, Jahangir Alam Malik Khokon, Mayor of Chaudanga Pourasabha and Nurul Islam Malik, a freedom fighter.

District administration, Awami League, different government and non-govt, social and cultural organisations chalked out various programmes including hoisting the national flag, discussion meeting and placing floral wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu to mark the day. Upazila Administration arranged a discusion at Uapzila Conference Room marking the Ntaioanl Children’s Day.
The subject of the discussion was “Bangabndhaur Shopno Dhoray Anbo Hasi ghoray”. Acting Upazila Chairman Abdus Salam was the chief and OC MD Rafiqual Islam was the special guests in the meeting. Among others, fredom fighters Golum Mustafa channa Mondal, abdul Khaleque, Nazrul Islam Montu, Siraj Uddin Biswas, ishwardi Press Club General Secretay Abduk Baten, former president of the Club Shapon Kumar Kundo took part in discussion.
Later, prize-giving ceremony of childrens’ art competition was held.
Local Awami also observed the birthday day. Leaders and activists of Awami League, Jubo League, Chhtra League, Mahila League, Sramik League gathered in the party office on Station Road and hoisted the Natioan Flag.
