The Bangladesh High Commission in London has opened ‘Bangabandhu Lounge’ at the chancery premises, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The mission in a scaled down programme due to coronavirus also celebrated the birthday on March 17 which is also a National Children’s Day for Bangladesh. High Commissioner Saida Muna Tasneem inaugurated the lounge at the event. She also read out the messages from the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs after hoisting the national flag. The programmes also included placing of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabdnhu, offering special prayers seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members and cutting cake.
