When Bangabandhu focused on rebuilding the country, when the country was moving forward with his far-reaching plans and strong leadership, the killer bullet of the country's evil power snatched away Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangabandhu had only three and a half years to develop a war-torn country, a fragile economy and a broken communication system. But by this time the per capita income had risen from USD 93 to USD271. Bangabandhu’s speech at the United Nations in 1974 reflected his pro-people modern philosophy.

FBCCI President Mohammad Jasim Uddin made the remarks while welcoming the FBCCI's virtual seminar titled ‘Bangabandhu's Economic Philosophy: Bangladesh in Industrial and Trade Development’ on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s 47th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day-2021. Bangabandhu’s Private Secretary Dr. Mohammad Farasuddin presented the keynote address at the virtual seminar. He said, “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had shown the seeds of independence since 1947, seeing the exploitation and deprivation of the Pakistani rulers. After overcoming various obstacles and liberating the country, the father of the nation wanted to establish a society free from exploitation and discrimination. The essence of his economic philosophy was the liberation of the common man.”

Political Secretary of Bangabandhu, former Minister and Advisor of Bangladesh Awami League Tofail Ahmed was also present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. He said, “Bangabandhu laid the foundation of today's Bangladesh. The architect of the Bangladesh has made far-reaching plans on agriculture, banking, insurance, electricity and communication.

The untimely demise of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has prolonged the process of rebuilding the newly born state. But after 21 years, under the strong leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of the father of the nation, Bangladesh has made it to the list of developing countries”.

Minister of the Ministry of Planning MA Mannan and Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister Salman F Rahman were present as special guests at the seminar.

Planning Minister MA Mannan said the government's plans are still being implemented in the light of the instructions given by the Father of the Nation. Through development philosophy, planning, and implementation, Bangabandhu is still alive in every advance of Bangladesh.

Mr. Salman F. Rahman MP, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Hon'ble Prime Minister, said in the post-independence reality that the factories left behind by the Pakistanis have been nationalized, but after the country became stable, Bangabandhu's economic philosophy was to build a balanced economy through public-private partnership.

Earlier, former FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Mr. A. K Azad, Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin MP and President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Barrister Nihad Kabir.

Mr. Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Honorable Senior Vice President of FBCCI delivered the concluding speech at the seminar. He said a lot of unknown information about Bangabandhu has been known through the seminar. Which will play an important role in building the future of Bangladesh.
