The 4th Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament will kick off on Sunday at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur. Preparations are in full swing as foreign teams began arriving on Friday to participate in this twelve-nation tournament.
The indoor stadium is undergoing a colourful transformation in anticipation of the competition. Malaysia arrived in Dhaka first on Friday, followed by Nepal, Thailand, Poland, Iraq, Uganda, and Kenya. Teams from Korea, Japan, and Sri Lanka are expected to arrive later tonight.
The host nation, Bangladesh, emerged victorious in the past three seasons and their team has already settled into the designated team hotel.
A ceremony to unveil the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament trophy will be held at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium at 4 pm on Saturday. Captains from all twelve participating countries will be present to discuss their preparations and expectations for the tournament.
The chief guest at the trophy unveiling ceremony will be Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation General Secretary and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Habibur Rahman. Leading kabaddi officials from various countries will also be in attendance.
