Bangabandhu Corner was formally launched at the Department of Political Science in Rajshahi University (RU) to give an in depth idea about the life, works and sacrifice of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to its students, teachers and others concerned.
The corner is enriched with Bangabandhu's portrait, historic speech of 7th March, photographs of all life and more than 200 books on life and works of Bangabandhu.
RU Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar inaugurated the corner by cutting the ribbon as the chief guest.
Pro-VC Prof Humayun Kabir and Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Iliash Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion.
Bangabandhu Chair of Institute of Bangladesh Studies Prof Sanat Kumar Saha spoke on the occasion as focal person with Chairman of the department Prof Farhat Tasnim in the chair.
Speaking on the occasion, VC Prof Sabbir Sattar urged the people to know about the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"All patriotic people must follow the ideals of Bangabandhu," he said.
They should also listen to the speeches of Bangabandhu minutely.
In his remarks, Prof Sanat Saha said apart from a few anti-liberation thugs, the whole nation under the leadership of Bangabandhu fought and brought independence of the country and that's why the Bangalee nation embraced him as their closest one, affectionately decorating him with the honor of Bangabandhu.
Recalling the greatest contribution of Bangabandhu to the independence of Bangladesh, he observed that the name of Bangabandhu could not be deleted from the people's minds until Bangladesh exists.
