Marking birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Barishal University (BU) has decided to establish a Bangabandhu Chair in the university.
The decision was taken at the 67th syndicate meeting of the university held on Monday. BU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Sadequl Arefin presised over the meeting.
A four-member committee has been formed with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Sadequl Arefin as convener to form the guidelines regarding the establishment of Bangabandhu Chair.
Additional Registreer of Barishal University Professor Dr. Muhammad Muhashin Uddin has been made the member secretary of the committee. The other members of the committee are Barishal Divisional Commissioner Dr. Amivat Sarkar and BU Assistant professor Suprovat Halder.
