The 8th meeting of the Film and Documentary Subcommittee on celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was held in the city on Wednesday. Convener of the subcommittee actor Syed Hasan Imam presided over the meeting held at the International Mother Language Institute in the city’s Segunbagicha area.
In the meeting, the committee discussed about government grants for making documentaries on the life and works of Bangabandhu and broadcasting those. The committee also held discussions on organizing an international film festival on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary.
Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee for Celebration of Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Member Secretary of the Film and Documentary Subcommittee and Information Secretary Abdul Malek, actors Akbar Hossain Pathan (Farooque), MP, MA Alamgir, Pijush Bandyopadhyay and Riaz Ahmed, film directors Ahmed Mujtaba Jamal and Amitabh Reza Chowdhury attended the meeting, among others.
