A 10-day Bangabandhu-Bapu Digital Exhibition began for public at Divisional Krira Complex in Rajshahi on Saturday.
The exhibition is being celebrated in a uniquely thematic way, the life and legacy of the fathers of each of the two nations, Mahatma Gandhi and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Assistant Indian High Commission is hosting the exhibition to mark the Mujib Barsha and 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, while Assistant Indian High Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Bhati welcomed the audience.
Among others, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil and Awami League leader Abdul Wadud were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahriar Alam said the two neighbouring countries, Bangladesh and India, maintain close and cordial relations on various bilateral fields and issues.
Bangladesh and India, as the closest neighbours, will continue to work together to establish a secure South Asia for the benefit of all people.
He said the relationship has its genesis in the War of Liberation in 1971 and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman maintained excellent relations with the Indian leadership.
"We recall with deep gratitude the contribution of the government of India for standing firmly by us in our most difficult time," he said.
Shahriar said the partnership is multifaceted and in the past few years, since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assumed office, they have attained some tangible goals in many areas.
The fair will remain open from 10 am to 5pm for the visitors until November 30.
