Deputy Commissioner of the Sunamganj Mohammad Abdul Ahad inaugurated Bangabandhu Gold Cup and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament-2019 at the District Stadium on Monday.
A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the inaugural game. District Primary Education Officer Md. Zillur Rahman presided over the event while Deputy Commissioner of Sunamganj and President of the District Sports Association Mohammad Abdul Ahad spoke as the chief guest. District Secondary Education Officer Jahangir Alam, District Sports Association’s General Secretary Dewan Imdad Reza Chowdhury, Sunamganj Press Club President Pankaj Kanti Dey spoke at the event among others.
The opening game was between Jamalganj Upazila team and Doarabazar upazila team. Doarabazar Upazila team defeated Jamalpurganj Upazila by 1-0 goals. 11 teams from 11 upazilas in the district are participating in Bangabandhu Gold Cap and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Goldcap Primary School Football Tournament-2019.
