Bandarban district administration has reopened the tourist spots of the district that were closed down due to corona pandemic, from Friday morning.
On spot Visiting Nilachal on Friday morninh, it was seen that tourists have started coming to the tourist spot in Bandarban since morning. They are entering one by one wearing masks, after washing their hands and buying tickets.
Although it was a public holiday, there was not seen much crowd of tourists in the morning. Many tourists were seen running around with their family and friends in the tourist spot while Some were seen capturing the landscape on their cameras.
Dilip Barua, ticket collector of Nilachal Tourist spot, said 70 tickets were sold since morning. However, he said that the crowd of tourist might increase in the afternoon.
Shahnaz Akhtar, a tourist from Dhaka’s Mirpur said, “As the government has reopened the country’s tourist destinations after the Corona lockdown, we have come to visit the natural beauty of Bandarban”.
Shahadat Hossain, another tourist from Dhaka, said, “I was in a suffocating condition in Dhaka during the Corona lockdown. Coming to Bandarban I can finally breath freely in relief”.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Shamim Hossain said the tourist spots and hotels motels have been reopened. Tourists have to enter the tourist spots following hygiene rules.
The district administration closed down all the tourist spots of the district from March 18 to prevent corona transmission. There are 60 hotels and motels in the district.
