Popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan is set to appear in the sequel to the critically acclaimed film Ardhangini. Titled Ajo Ardhangini, the film will be directed by renowned Indian filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly.
The original Ardhangini, released in 2023, was widely praised for its mature storyline and strong performances. Jaya Ahsan’s role in the film received huge appreciation from both audiences and critics. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited news of a sequel. Now, director Kaushik Ganguly has officially confirmed that Ajo Ardhangini is happening, much to the delight of viewers on both sides of the border.
In this sequel, Churni Ganguly, another respected actress from Kolkata, will star alongside Jaya Ahsan and Kaushik Sen in the lead roles. Actor Indrashish Roy is also joining the cast as a new character. According to production sources, shooting for the film is expected to begin around June 15 or 16.
Jaya Ahsan recently confirmed the news through her social media accounts and shared that she visited Kolkata for a look test. Popular Indian daily Anandabazar has already revealed her new look for the upcoming film.
While speaking to Indian media, Jaya said, "Ardhangini had a very mature storyline. It’s truly a joy to be part of its sequel. The audience loved the first film, and now our challenge is to present something even better."
Apart from this project, Jaya is also busy with her Eid-ul-Azha release Tandoob, for which she has recently completed dubbing in Kolkata. Meanwhile, post-production work is going on for her other film Dear Maa. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Jaya’s powerful performances in these upcoming projects.
