72 close circuit cameras have been installed at major important locations in Bandarban town’s Bazaar area. The project was inaugurated by Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing MP in front of Bazaar Mosque on Saturday evening. The project is being implemented by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board.
A discussion meeting was organized on the initiative of Bandarban Bazaar Businessmen Welfare Council. Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing MP was present as the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Yasnin Parveen Tibriji, Superintendent of Police Jerin Akhter, District Council Member Lakshi Pad Das, Executive Engineer of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Bandarban Unit Abu Bin Md Yasir Arafat, Business Welfare Council Vice-President Bimal Kanti Das, 4th Ward Councilor Omar Farooq along with journalists working in print and electronic media and prominent people of the district were present at the programme. The project is being implemented by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board at a cost of Tk 35 lakh.
