A 19 day-long Baishakhi fair has started in Jamalpur municipality of the district. Jamalpur District Awami League President and Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah inaugurated this fair on Tuesday at Jamalpur District School Ground.
Jamalpur Municipality Mayor and Jamalpur Municipal Awami League General Secretary Alhaj Mohammad Chanwar Hossain Chanu presided over the opening ceremony of the Baisakhi Mela as the Chief Guest.
General Secretary of District Awami League Bijan Kumar Chand, Superintendent of Police Nashir Uddin Ahmed, former Vice President of District Awami League Mirza Sakhawatul Alam Moni, GSM Mizanur Rahman Mizan, President of Awami League Masum Reza Rahim and others also spoke at this time.
Apart from clothing, cosmetics, toys, food stalls, the fair will have various rides for children including city floats, Troy trains and various interesting cultural programs every day.
