The President parade marking the commissioning of No 82 batch of the Bangladesh Air Force Academy course and direct entry of Bangladesh BAF was held at the BAF Academy in at Jashore on Wednesday.
According to a ISPR press release signed by Aysha Siddiqua, assistant information officer of the ISPR, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan attended the ceremony as chief guest. He reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and took salute at the impressive march past. He handed over trophies and flying badges among the graduating officer cadets.
Officer cadet Kashshaf Mahbub Labib was presented with the coveted Sword of Honour for his best all round performance, Officer cadet Wasif Ahammod received Birsreshto Matiur Rahman trophy for his best performance in flying training and officer cadet Sayeda Fariha Yasmin was presented commandants trophy for her best performance in general service training in the course.
Officer cadet Sayeda Fariha Yasmin received Chief of Air Staff Trophy for her best all round performance amongst the ground branch officer cadet. In this summer semester No.1 Squadron was adjudged the champion squadron and was accorded academy colour.
Total twenty two officer cadets including six female officer cadets were commissioned this time. Senior under officer Kashshaf Mahbub Labib commanded the parade. The parade was followed by a spectacular fly past of different aircrafts and wonderful aerobatic display of BAF.
Among others, civil and military high officials, local dignitaries and guardians of the newly commissioned officers were present on the ceremony.
