Habiganj-3 constituency lawmaker Abu Zahir, who was diagnosed with coronavirus, was flown the northern district to Dhaka on Wednesday by Bangladesh Air Force (BAF).
Abu Zahir was taken to Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) by a helicopter from the District Central Eidgah ground of Habiganj at about 10:15am as per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the MP’s personal assistant Sudip Das said.
Major Dr Ashraful of Bangladesh Army, younger brother of the lawmaker Badrul Alam and Sudip Das accompanied Abu Zahir to Dhaka.
Abu Zahir, who is president of the district unit of Awami League, was tested positive for Covid-19 On Monday.
