BAF airlifts Covid-19-infected MP Mansur to Dhaka

Rajshahi-5 constituency lawmaker Prof Mansur Rahman, who was diagnosed with coronavirus, was flown the northern district to Dhaka on Monday by Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), said a press release of Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR).

BAF has always been providing emergency air transport and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) assistance in aid to civil power to protect coronavirus and continuing various activities to affirm its commitment to meet all emergency needs in a professional manner. 

In line with this, Chief of Air Staff of BAF provided necessary guidance to carry out the MEDEVAC mission.

Rahman, a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was emergency flown from Rajshahi to the capital  Dhaka by BAF MI-171SH helicopter, read the ISPR release.

Later, he was taken to the capital’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital for better treatment, it added.
