BAF aircraft leaves for Maldives with relief and doctors to fight coronavirus

A C-130 B transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force left Dhaka for Maldives on Saturday with relief items and eleven Bangladeshi doctors serving in Maldives on emergency against COVID-19 pandemic.

ISPR officials said the mission consisting of a 19 BAF Air Crew was led by Air Commodore of BAF M A Awal Hossai. Chief of Air Staff and Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat provided necessary guidance to carry out the mission.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar was present on the occasion. In compliance with the policies published by the government, BAF is conducting various activities under the direction of Prime Minister to prevent coronavirus. In line with this, aC-130B transport aircraft of BAF transported relief items for Maldives and 11 Bangladeshi doctors serving in Maldivesas a sign of friendship on behalf of the government.

It is mentionable that those doctors were unable to return to their workplace in Maldives due to the global corona situation. During the global crisis period, Bangladesh has set a brilliant example of brotherhood by extending hands for Maldives with the help of BAF as a sign of mutual cooperation. It is expected that this assistance from Bangladesh will further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
