To ensure a secure agricultural production system by supplying high-quality non-urea fertilisers to farmers across the country, the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, continues to import non-urea fertilisers from various countries through government-to-government agreements.
As part of this ongoing initiative, BADC is set to import 630,000 metric tonnes of TSP and 480,000 metric tonnes of DAP fertiliser from Morocco in the 2025–26 fiscal year.
On July 2, 2025, a renewal of the bilateral agreement between BADC and OCP Nutri'Groups of Morocco was formally signed in the port city of Casablanca. The agreement was signed on behalf of BADC by Mr Md Ruhul Amin Khan, Chairman (Grade-1). Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture of Bangladesh, along with officials from both countries, attended the signing ceremony.
This renewed partnership highlights the Government of Bangladesh's commitment to strengthening global cooperation for the timely procurement of essential agricultural inputs and supporting the country's food security agenda.
