All-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad returned home from India with a bandage on his left hand. The experienced batter was run out against Australia of the last outings of Bangladesh. Riyad fell to the ground to avoid being out which later became dark.
Middle order batter Riyad suffered shoulder injury. After returning home, MRI was done. Depending on the condition of the injury, it may take at least five weeks to complete the rehabilitation process. Due to this, the One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand next month is uncertain for him.
However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical department did not inform any news for Riyad’s injury. But it is certain that the all-rounder will miss the upcoming series against the Black Caps.
The three match ODI series against New Zealand will kick off on December 17. The tour will be end with the last T-20 on December 31. Tigers will leave Dhaka on December 12.
Before this ODI and shorter version series, Kiwis will come to Bangladesh to lay two Tests on November 21. Riyad will not play in this Test series due to retirement from Test cricket.
