Awami League adopts electioneering plan

Leaders of Rangpur city unit of Awami League (AL) at its combined meeting have adopted electioneering plan for by-poll in Rangpur-3 seat to make symbol ‘Boat’ winner with a huge vote margin. City AL President Shafiur Rahman Shafi presided over the meeting held at its office on Thursday while its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal moderated the occasion.

Hundreds of leaders of city and ward units of AL and associate bodies attended the event and expressed opinions on the election campaigning and complete solidarity and unity to work for winning the by-election. Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its Vice-president Shahadat Hossain Bakul, Vice-president of city AL and member of its central executive committee Idris Ali and District Council Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanom discussed various aspects of the upcoming by-polls in Rangpur-3 parliamentary constituency.

They also forwarded suggestions for smoothly conducting election campaign in Rangpur-3 seat properly in a well-coordinated manner to reach messages of massive developments done by the AL-government in last 10 years in Rangpur and across the country. AL-nominated candidate and General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu asked leaders and workers of AL and its all associate bodies not to pay any attention to false propaganda being conducted by a political party regarding candidature of AL-nominated candidate.

He suggested party leaders and workers to show the development planning of AL for Rangpur and massive advancement of the country in all fields and sectors in last 10 years during the door-to-door election campaign. “We have to mix with common people of Rangpur who want a major change for accelerating development in the district and also the region as a whole under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

Razu expressed satisfaction over rock-solid unity among local leaders and workers of AL and its all associate bodies and called upon them to work unitedly for making the symbol ‘Boat’ winner in the by-poll. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed urged leaders and activists of AL and its associate bodies for properly utilising the strength of unity and commitment to work shoulder-to-shoulder for making the symbol ‘Boat’ winner in the by-poll of Rangpur-3 seat slated for October 5 next.
