‘Aviation and tourism sector growing rapidly’

The country's aviation and tourism sector has been growing rapidly as these two industries got huge investment. The scope of the country’s airspace is growing through development and prosperity.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali came up with the assertion while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on ‘Golden Jubilee of Independence and Bangladesh’s Achievement’ organised by the Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) at the VVIP terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday.

He said, “Timely development and expansion of aviation infrastructure is underway across the country. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has a rich fleet of 21 state-of-the-art aircraft due to the earnest interest of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Work is underway to formulate a tourism master plan for the development of quality of the country's tourism industry.”

“All the great achievements of Bangladesh in the last 50 years since independence have come through Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The great hero of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has given us an independent country, and under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina we have got a developing Bangladesh,” he added.

“Construction of the thirrd terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, construction of self-financed Padma Bridge including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Karnafuli Tunnel has proved the capability of Bangladesh in front of the world. Bangladesh has entered into the era of space science with the launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-1. Bangladesh is now one of the top five fast developing countries. Bangladesh is now one of the development wonders in the world,” the state minister further said.

CAAB Member (Administration) Md Mizanur Rahman presided over the seminar while Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Curator and former Secretary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum, was the keynote speaker at the programme.
