Auto-rickshaw driver strangled in Savar

Ashulia Police on early Friday recovered the body of a man from his neighbour’s room at Vadail area of Ashulia in Savar, on the outside of the capital. 

Hasib Mia, SI of Ashulia police station confirming the news said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy and a case has been filed in this regard. The deceased was identified as Joynal Abedin, 60, son of Monsher Ali, hailed from Rangpur’s Pirgacha area. He used to make living by pulling battery run Auto-rickshaw in that area for long.

Saifuddin, son of the deceased alleged his father steps out after taking lunch on Thursday, and later his family members started to search him as he did not return home even after a late night of the day.

“At one stage, we contacted Rubel, and he said that my father was sleeping in his room, suspecting him as his room was locked at that time, and he was outside. Later we found my father was lying down under his room’s bed, and we informed the police”, Saifuddin said.

Hasib Mia, the SI said primarily they suspecting that the man might be strangled to death and police trying to arrest Rubel but he went into hiding since the incident happened. 

Adding that the matter is subject to investigation to know what was actually happened. However, police investigating the issue.
