Auto-rickshaw driver dies with coronavirus symptom

A 32-year old man who took admission to Sylhet Shaheed Samsuddin Ahmed Hospital concealing his past treatment record died at the hospital on Thursday with symptoms of coronavirus infection. 

District Civil Surgeon Dr AKM Mostafizur Rahman said, “The man, Ferdous Mia of Habiganj sadar upazila, a CNG autorickshaw driver might have died of COVID-19 as he had symptoms of coronavirus infection such as fever and breathing problem. His samples have been collected and we can confirm whether or not he had contracted the virus after we get his test report.”

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Sakhawat Hasan Rubel said, “Immediately after his death, we put his house and his in-laws' house under lockdown.” Nizampur Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Taj Uddin Ahmed said, “The deceased, son of Md Zafar Ali of Harirampur village was admitted to 250-bed modern district Sadar Hospital in Habiganj on April 25. 

Doctors later referred him to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet. He left behind his wife and four children. He was at his father-in-law's house for about 15 days before being admitted to the hospital, he further added.
