Pakistani band Jal is set to perform in Dhaka on September 27 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album "Aadat." The concert, titled "Legends of the Decade," will also feature popular Bangladeshi band Aurthohin, marking their long-awaited return to the stage after a significant break.
Aurthohin’s frontman, Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon, also known as Bassbaba Sumon, has been battling health issues, including cancer, spinal injuries, and complications with his eyesight. Sumon recently had surgeries on his legs and eyes in Bangkok. Despite his health challenges, Sumon announced Aurthohin's comeback on Facebook, promising fans they would return to the stage in September.
The concert, organized by Assen Buzz, Get Set Rock, and Zirconium, will take place at Dhaka Arena in Purbachal. Aurthohin and Jal will perform together, making it a special event for music lovers. This is Aurthohin’s first performance in a long time, and Jal’s second concert in Dhaka since 2010.
Get Set Rock, a co-organizer, confirmed Aurthohin's participation on their website, and the band also teased their return on Facebook. Bassbaba Sumon shared, "Aurthohin is coming," exciting fans who have been eagerly waiting.
Jal, known for their hit album "Aadat," first released in 2004, is widely popular in Bangladesh and beyond. Ananda Chowdhury, founder and CEO of Assen Buzz, expressed his excitement, saying, "Jal and Aurthohin returning to the stage on the same day is a dream come true for fans.
The response has been overwhelming, with tickets selling fast."
Tickets are available on the Get Set Rock website for Tk 3,050. Gates will open at 5 pm, and the performances will start at 6 pm sharp, promising an evening of unforgettable music.
