A press conference was held in Gopalganj’s Kashiani on Friday protesting occupation of a temple’s land and harassment of national women's cricket team member Lily Rani Biswas by filing a false case against her.
Devotees and leaders of Vadulia Sarbojanin Central Rakshachandi Temple Committee held the press conference at the temple premises in Ratil Union of Kashiani Upazila.
Member of the national women's cricket team Lily Rani Biswas also a member of the temple committee Lily Rani Biswas read out the statement at the time.
Ranjit Poddar, President of Vadulia Sarbojanin Central Rakshachandi Mandir, former president Amulya Kumar Biswas, general secretary Subodh Kumar Mridha and others also spoke in the press conference.
Speakers at the time accused that local resident A Razzak and his children have become active to disrupt the ongoing development activities of this traditional and oldest temple as well as to illegally occupy the temple site. They sought the intervention of the administration in this matter as soon as possible.
