Residents of Naogaon's Mahadevpur, the birthplace of UNO Waheeda, organized a human chain programme in Naogaon on Saturday morning to protest the attack on UNO Waheeda Khanam demanding exemplary punishment for those involved.
People from all walks of life including Wahida's villagers took part in it. The human chain programmed was observed on Mahadevpur main road.
During the human chain, the speakers said that the attack was carried out not for the purpose of theft but for premeditated killing. Although some people have been arrested in connection to the incident, the fog has not cleared yet. The assailants of the attackers have not yet been caught.
It was demanded that the maximum punishment be ensured by arresting those involved immediately. The speakers prayed for the quick recovery of UNO Wahida Khanam and her father. Students, teachers, lawyers, men and women of different classes and professions took part in the human chain.
