Atomexpo 2022 starts today in Russia

 The 12th edition of ATOMEXPO international forum, one of the main congress and exhibition events of the nuclear industry will be held in the Russian resort city of Sochi today with the theme of ‘Nuclear Spring: Creating a Sustainable Future.’

 The ATOMEXPO international forum, organized with the support of ROSATOM, has been held annually since 2009. However, it was not held in 2020-2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the largest business and exhibition platform where the heads of major companies of the industry and leading experts discuss the challenges of developing nuclear technologies, strengthen partnerships and exchange best practices.

More than 4,100 participants from 74 countries, including about 300 media representatives, 211 speakers and 142 exhibitors will took part in the event. A Bangladesh delegation including officials of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, nuclear experts and journalists will be join at the event led by Architect Yeafesh Osman, Minister of Science and Technology.

The forum will bring together heads of government bodies, key stakeholders, global nuclear industry players, public organizations and international experts. The guests will discuss current issues of innovative development based on nuclear technologies.

The event will include a plenary session, as well as thematic round tables and panel discussions. The participants will discuss the role of nuclear energy in solving climate change issues and the contribution of nuclear technologies to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Numerous business meetings are expected to take place on the sidelines of the forum with many partnership agreements expected to be signed. Some 27 roundtables on various relevant aspects of nuclear technology development will be held during the two-day long event in the Sirius Park of Science and Art of Russia.

 In the first day, major roundtable session topics are-ESG Financing to Support Global Energy Transition, Digital Engineering: Myths and Reality, Modern Trends in Nuclear Fuel Cycle Supply, Diversification of Solutions for the "Green" Energy Transition, Risks and Opportunities: Responding to Challenges of the Global Economy, Industrial Waste: Heritage, Realities and Prospects, Blue Economy: Government, Business, and Science for a Sustainable Future, Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Manufacturing and Nuclear Power Sector, Digital Cooperation in Industry, Non-power Applications of Nuclear and Radiation Technologies

 In the second day some others important roundtable discussions including, Besides Accumulating Human Resources for Advanced Nuclear Technologies, Closed Nuclear Fuel Cycle: New Opportunities and Products, Modern Technology in Everyday Life, Floating NPPs: Mobile Nuclear Solutions for Energy Systems of the Future, New Materials and Technologies: Response to Modern Trends in Economic Development, Hydrogen Energy Globally: development of technologies and projects will be held there.
