ATAB organises tourism expo to attract more foreign tourists

To attract more foreign tourists in the country, Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) is going to organize Bangladesh International Travel and Tourism Expo (BITTI).

ATAB president SN Manjur Morshed said this at a press conference held at ATAB Conference Hall in the capital on Tuesday.

He said, “We are arranging such expo for the development of the tourism sector. Our domestic tourism has developed after the pandemic. We want to spreads our tourism possibilities in the international arena. How we can earn foreign currency, at the same time how we can establish our country as the aviation hub of South Asia, we can highlight all these during the expo. In this regard there will be three seminars.”  

ATAB Secretary General Abdus Salam Aref said that the purpose of this tourism Expo is to help achieve SDGs in our tourism. This expo will help in creating opportunities for foreign investment in the tourism sector and it will also play a role in building relationships between local and foreign travel agencies and tour operators besides attracting foreign tourists.

There will be three seminars in the three days of the tourism fair. On the first day, a seminar on investment potential in the country’s tourism sector will be held. Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Miah will preside over this seminar.

On the second day, there will be a seminar on opportunities to join the country’s aviation and tourism world. Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Tourism Mokammel Hossain will preside over it. 

And on the third day a seminar on Tourism in the Digital Age will be conducted.

This fair is going to be organized at Bangabandhu International Conference Center from December 1 that will continue till December 3. More than 15 countries, including India, Malaysia, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Oman, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and other countries, including airlines, hospitals, tourism boards, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, resorts, cruise liners, destination management companies and other travel and tourism related service providers have confirmed participation in the exhibition.
