ARSA commander among 3 top listed terrors held in Rohingya camp

RAB-15 arrested three people including Arkan Rohingya Salvation Army's (Arsa) second in command, Arsa head's body guard from Ukhia Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar. Meanwhile, 2 foreign weapons, one domestic weapon and 4 rounds of bullet were also recovered.

They were arrested from a house in Rohingya Camp, Extension No 20, Ukhia, on Tuesday midnight.

In a press conference organized at the office of RAB-15 in the afternoon, Captain of RAB-15 in Cox's Bazar Lt. Colonel HM Sajjad Hossain confirmed this information.

The arrested are, Ukhia No. 4 Camp Md. Noor's son Abul Hasim (31), Hossain Johar's son of deceased Ali Ahmed of Camp No. 12, Prakash Ali Johar (32) and Noor Alam's son of Camp No. 6 Md. Alam Prakash Shaer Moocha (35).

 RAB said, arrested Abul Hasim is Arsa's second in command, Md. Alam is the bodyguard of Arsa chief Ataullah Jununi and Ali Johar is the commander of Arsa's transport wing. There are many cases, including murder against them.

In the press conference, RAB-15 captain Lt. Colonel HM Sajjad Hossain said, with the help of the state intelligence agencies, based on secret information, they found out that some Arsa members are staying in a room of Extension No. 20 Rohingya camp. Based on this information, a smart team of RAB-15, Cox's Bazar conducted a special operation on Wednesday midnight. At that time, RAB arrested three Arsa terrorists and recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession.

He said that Abul Hasim came to Bangladesh in 2017 and took shelter in the Rohingya camp. In 2018 Rohingya terrorist organization joined Arsa. He was earlier working as a member of Net Group. After that till 2020-22 he was in charge of Zimmadar. Later, Abul Hasim took over as second in command. 

According to Arsa's instructions, he used to conduct various criminal activities including creating violence in the camp, launched armed attacks on opposing groups, killed and abducted ordinary Rohingyas and wealthy Rohingyas, targeted by Arsa. 

He used to go into hiding after terrorist activities to avoid the prying eyes of the law enforcement agencies. Abul Hasim killed Ershad, Imam Hussain and Sub Majhi Syed Alam in Rohingya Camp No. 4, Abdul Hamid in Rohingya Camp No. 3, Md. There are 7 cases including murder of Qasim and Yunus and killing of Kachim in Rohingya camp number 17.

Lt. Colonel HM Sajjad Hossain said that Hossain Johar Prakash Ali Johar was employed as a member of Arsa while he was in Myanmar and his main task was to find those who entered Bangladesh and stayed in Rohingya camps and bring them back to Arsa. 

From the first of 2020, he worked as an associate of Maulvi Lal Mohammad and Mufti Atiq in Arsa Kachari or court of justice. At that time Arsar used to do the main work of collecting extortion money and fines in Kachari. In 2022, after the killing of a DGFI officer in Konarpara, Arsa commanders moved into Myanmar and he was appointed as the commander of Arsa's transport wing. There are 2 cases against him in Ukhia police station.

RAB official said, Md. Alam Prakash Shayer Mucha joined Arsa in 2016 while still living in Myanmar. He first worked as a guard for Arsa in Myanmar and later used his motorcycle to transport Arsa leaders from place to place. Later, Ataullah served as Jununi's bodyguard. There are 5 cases against him in Ukhia police station.

A case has been filed against the arrested people and they have been handed over to Ukhia police. The RAB captain said that RAB-15 arrested 101 top terrorists of ARSA in one year. They also recovered 7 foreign pistols, 52 indigenous weapons, 140 rounds of bullet/cartridge, 67 rounds of empty shells, 50.21 kgs of explosives, 28 pieces of cocktails, 04 pieces of IEDs and 1.5 kgs of mercury (mercury).
