Bangladesh Army will not involve itself with the cleaning of waste of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha and dengue control activities.
In a post in its verified Facebook page, Bangladesh Army issued the statement on Tuesday.
It said, recently, in a media statement, the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) administrator mentioned that the Bangladesh Army would be deployed for the management of sacrificial animal waste and the control of dengue mosquitoes during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
In the post, the Army stated that it has not been informed of or consulted with regarding any such assignment and has no plans to engage in these activities in the future.
Given the current context, the Bangladesh Army is tirelessly working to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and ensure public security.
The Army believes that it is more appropriate for the relevant and competent civil agencies to be entrusted with the responsibility of carrying out such activities, it also said.
