Army provides food aid to 500 destitute family in Tungipara

Considering the Corona pandemic situation across the country, the Bangladesh Army has once again stood by the distressed and helpless under the direction of Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed.

The 55th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army has again provided food aid to 500 destitute and helpless families affected by the Corona pandemic in Gopalganj’s Tungipara, the birthplace of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

To this end, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Commander of 14th East Bengal Regiment, as the Chief Guest, distributed food items (rice, pulses, flour, salt, oil and soap) among 500 distressed and helpless families at Tungipara Upazila Helipad premises on Sunday noon.

Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) KM Hedayetul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Dedarul Islam, 2nd East Bengal Regiment Commander Lieutenant Colonel Morshedul Hasan, Major Mosaddek Ibn Mujib, Captain Shah-e-Mashur and others complying with the health rules attended the programme.

Media persons working in various print and electronic media in Gopalganj district, including Sadaf Abrar Ryan and UP chairmen of various unions under Tungipara upazila were also present there.
