Army man killed in gun attack

An army man succumbed to his injuries at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Chattogram and three others were injured critically at a sudden gun attack on a moving patrol team of army at remote Paitupara in Gayindya union under Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati on Sunday. The deceased army soldier is Nasim, 19. Injured army man Mahbub was undergoing treatment at the CMH. 

The gun attack took place when a patrol team of army from Rajasthali army camp was going to Paitupara area around at 10:00 am. The unidentified gunmen fired shots on army men indiscriminately when they reached near the patrolling post, injuring two soldiers seriously, said officer in-charge of Rajasthali police station Mafzal Ahmmad Khan. 

Soon after the incident, more troops of army and police went to the spot and cordoned off the place. Later, they conducted combing operation there where another two army men were injured critically in a mine explosion.

Captain Mehedi and Sepoy Moshiur were flown to CMH in Chattogram on the later day, said ISPR sources. 

Rangamati Superintendent of police Md. Alamgir Kabir told The Bangladesh Post on Monday that their law enforces could not find out any clue about motive of the attack.
