To prevent the spread of dengue in Magura, the 55th Artillery Division of the Bangladesh Army distributed mosquito nets among 50 indigent families of Doharpar area in the District Town on Sunday noon.
They also sprayed mosquito repellent through fogger machines in the drains and garbage dumps around the houses at the area.
Lieutenant Colonel Atif Siddiqui of the 55 Artillery Division of the Bangladesh Army was present on the occasion. Lieutenant Colonel Atif Siddiqui said, Bangladesh Army is working to prevent the spread of dengue as well as the corona virus across the country. “We are working to prevent the Aedes mosquito, which carries the dengue virus.
We are raising awareness among the general public to prevent the spread of dengue in the urban and rural areas of Magura Municipality, as well as spraying mosquito repellent drugs”, he added.
Corona is an epidemic disease. Similarly, dengue is a terrible disease caused by a virus. The disease killed more than a hundred people across the country last year.
So the army men are making people aware in advance and distributing mosquito nets among the needy families. They will continue these activities, Colonel Atif Siddiqui said.
