Army chief to go to Thailand for IPACC

Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed BSP, BGBM, PBGM, BGBMS, psc, G is set to leave for Thailand on Saturday (September 7) because of an invitation from Royal Thai Army Commander-in-Chief. There he will meet army chiefs of 19 other countries at the Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC). The Bangladesh Army chief was invited by the Chief of Staff, US Army and Indo Pacific Commander to attend the conference.

In a segment of the conference the army chief will present his speech on ‘Trust Building Among Indo-Pacific Land Forces for Risk Reduction: The Experience of Bangladesh’. It is to be noted that during his time as DG BGB, he was invited to share his experience and knowledge of the role of the Bangladesh Army in improving relations with the Land Force of the bordering countries and solving the Rohingya crisis. Last 21 May he had visited Honolulu where the ‘Land Forces of the Pacific Sympasium and Exposition (LANPAC 2019)’ was organized and presented key speech on ‘Land Forces Increased Interoperability with Allies and Partners’. 

He will also hold bilateral talks with the Army Chief Indo Pacific Commander and Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Army during the visit. After the tour, he will return to the country on September 7.
