Army chief leaves for Maldives

Chief of Bangladesh Army General Aziz Ahmed left the country for an official visit to Maldives on Tuesday, said ISPR.

He left the country on Tuesday evening at the invitation of Chief of Maldives Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

General Aziz is leading a nine member delegation. During his visit, he will visit various military installations including MNDF Headquarters, the ISPR hand out said.

General Aziz Ahmed will also hold courtesy meetings with Maldivian Defense Minister Maria Ahmed Didi, Chief of Defense Forces Major  Chief of Maldives Defense Force  Major General Abdulla Shamaal and other senior military officials and discuss issues of mutual military interest. 

During the meeting, he will also discuss for further strengthening relations between the two countries' armies and mutual cooperation. 

During the visit, General Aziz Ahmed will visit the Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives and pay a courtesy call on the High Commissioner and other senior officials. He will return to the country on June 7.
