Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed on Thursday inspected the activities of the army personnel deployed in Jashore, Savar and Dhaka to assist the local civil administration ahead of the national polls.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said “The Army Chief visited the activities of the army deployed in Jashore region. During the visit, he inspected the activities of the deployed army personnel on the spot and exchanged views with the army personnel on duty. He also gave necessary instructions to them.”
On this occasion, GOC of 55 Infantry Division and Jashore Area Commander, along with senior military officers of Army headquarters and senior officers of local civil administration and law enforcement were present.
After visiting the Jashore region, the Army Chief inspected the
activities of the soldiers deployed in Savar and Dhaka gave necessary directions.
Members of the armed forces were deployed across the country From January 3 to assist the local civil administration in holding a free, fair and peaceful election scheduled for 7 January 2024.
The forces will remain deployed from January 3 to January 10 to ensure peace, and control law and order before, during and after the polls day.
