The US government has confirmed in a London court that India’s most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, the mastermind of Mumbai blast, and D-Company, his international crime syndicate, are based in Karachi, Pakistan. By saying this, Washington hit Islamabad in the International arena supporting India’s claim.
There are many speculations regarding the king of dark world Dawood.
It was suspected that he died from deadly diseases but thrashing all the speculations, his telephone conversation made it clear that he is alive and his D company is running well. With the support of Pakistani administration and government, he has been handling all these. John Hardy QC, representing the US government in an extradition case filed against Jabir Motiwala, Dawood’s top henchman, said: “The FBI in New York is investigating the D-Company which is based in Pakistan, India and the UAE.”
“The head is Dawood Ibrahim, an Indian Muslim living in exile in Pakistan. He and his brother have been fugitives from India since 1993 and over the past 10 years, D-Company operatives have conducted operations in the US, specifically money laundering and extortion. The FBI investigation has revealed Motiwala reports directly to Dawood and extortion, debt collection and money laundering are his main jobs,” Hardy said.
Two Pakistani witnesses will deliver their statements in this case. The trial is being held in London. They will join in the hearing through video conference from Pakistan. Earlier, Motiwala filed a petition in this regard and the court granted his plea. The USA did not bring terrorist allegation against Motiwala despite Washington is seeking his extradition in several cases including drug smuggling.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan government is trying hard to stop the extradition as Jabir Motiwala is the close associate of Dawood and there is a possibility of leaking out secret information about Dawood.
