Armed Forces has activated a monitoring cell at Prime Minister Office to monitor the cyclone Bulbul. Talking to the Bangladesh Post, Lt Col Abdullah Ibn Zaid, Director of ISPR, confirmed it on Saturday evening.

A rescue team of 120 army personnel has already left for Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira District with necessary doctors and vehicles. All formations of army are maintaining communications with local civil administrations and have been kept ready for any assistance.

Medicine, drinking water, dry foods have also been stocked for distribution during post disaster operation.

The monitoring cell is remaining open twenty four hours a day.

All brigades and divisions of army are keeping uninterrupted communication with the civil administration for any emergency help, said the ISPR director.

Army held demonstrations (exercise) for resisting possible loses of the displaced Myanmar citizens in Cox's Bazar camps.

Twenty seven ships of Bangladesh Navy have already shifted to a secured place for cyclone Bulbul. Five ships have been kept on stand-by for post disaster operation. Four contingents and medical teams of Bangladesh Navy have also been ready. They are communicating with local administration in Dhaka, Chattogram and Khulna.

A contingent of 100 members are in Chattogram region. Bangladesh Air Forces also activated a monitoring cell at its headquarters for monitoring cyclone Bulbul.

All aircrafts have been kept ready for post disaster recce and for any emergency mission. An advance team of Bangladesh Air Force has already left for Barishal.
