Armed forces achieving global reputation: Gen Aziz

Chief of the Armed Forces General Aziz Ahmed, has said that the Armed Forces have been established as an institution to save independence and sovereignty of the country and as a symbol of public trust. The armed forces should be prepared to face any threat, said the Army chief adding, “In the International Peace Keeping Missions, the armed forces of the country were achieving name and reputation not only fronthroughout the world.

General Aziz Ahmed was addressing as the chief guest at the function of reunion of the 6th Armoured Corps at the Armoured Corps Centre and School in Bogura Cantonment on Thursday morning. Recalling the best Bangalee for thousands of years, architect of the Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect, the Armed Forces Chief said the members of Armoured corps are inspired by the very invocation "

“We should rather lay down our lives, not our honour,” he said. The members of this corps have participated skillfully at any internal disastrous moment as well as in the International Peace Keeping Missions. The very corps members have a glorious history at the Great War of Liberation.

He expressed his determination that with the abled, genius and farsighted leadership of honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh Army will be built as further modern and suited to the age. Earlier he visited the parade of the reunion of the 6th Armoured corps and took salute. 

The function was attended, among others, by the Military and the civil officials and members of the Armored corps. Meanwhile during a press briefing Gneral Azi zAhmed said, a huge number of Rohingya refugees have entered to our country from Myanmar. They have been sheltered to a limited space. They have been trying to go illegally elsewhere in the country and even in foreign countries. Bangladesh Army was working to ensure safety and to observe and control free movement of seven camps of Rohingyas. Barbed wire fencing will be erected along the Rohingy camps and their security will be ensured and movement will be controlled.
