Popular film actor Arifin Shuvoo just wrapped up filming for his upcoming "Unishe April" web series in India. The series was directed by Kolkata-based director Arindam Sil. In addition to Shuvoo, the series also features lead performances by Kalkata actors Arunima Ghosh, Sauraseni Maitra, and Indrasish Roy. Shuvoo will play a vital role in this OTT initiative. In the series, Arunima will play a movie star, while Sauraseni will play a police officer.
“I have been wanting to work with Arifin Shuvoo for a long time now but somehow it wasn’t happening. The jinx is finally broken now,” said Arindam Sil.
‘Unishe April’ is a mystery drama that talks about an affair that goes wrong leading to a series of unexpected incidents. The title of Sil’s series is a tribute to Rituparno Ghosh (Ghosh’s second feature film was ‘Unishe April’, starring Aparna Sen and Debasree Roy).
The first look of the series has already been published. ‘Unishe April’ will stream on a new Bengali OTT platform soon.
Earlier, Shuvoo featured in the Tollywood movie ‘Ahaa Re’, starring Rituparna Sengupta, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Paran Bandopadhyay, Deepankar De and Shakuntala Barua.
Arifin Shuvoo caught the attention for his performance in, ‘Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini’ which starred Jaya Ahsan and Shakib Khan in lead roles. He has been a part of many hit TV shows and movies including ‘Dhaka Attack’, ‘Black War: Mission Extreme 2’, ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’, and ‘Chuye Dile Mon’.
