Argentina beat Brazil 4-2 in Dhaka JCD Friendly Match

Argentina defeated arch-rivals Brazil 4-2 in a symbolic friendly football match organized in Dhaka, claiming the championship title in an event aimed at promoting sportsmanship, friendship and healthy recreation among students.

Held under the slogan “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind,” the exhibition match was organized by the New Model University College unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal under Dhaka Metropolitan East. The initiative sought to encourage harmony, teamwork and sporting spirit among general students while creating a festive atmosphere on campus.

The match attracted enthusiastic participation from students, many of whom cheered for their favorite sides in a lively celebration inspired by one of football’s greatest international rivalries. Although symbolic in nature, the contest produced an entertaining display, with Argentina securing a convincing 4-2 victory over Brazil.

Following the final whistle, invited guests presented the championship trophy to the winning Argentina side. Students welcomed the initiative and thanked the organizers for arranging an event that combined recreation with opportunities for social interaction. Many participants expressed hope that similar sports and cultural activities would continue in the future.

The friendly match was organized under the supervision of New Model University College Chhatra Dal leader Tamzid Hossain. Senior Joint General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan East Chhatra Dal Obaidul Islam Soikat was present at the event as the chief guest.

Among the special guests were former Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary Kamruzzaman Kamrul, Dhaka Metropolitan East Chhatra Dal Vice President Md. Ibrahim, former Joint Convener of Kalabagan Thana Jubo Dal Md. Sakhawat, Dhaka Metropolitan East Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretaries Moniruzzaman Monir and Mohammad Tofayel, and Social Welfare Secretary Enayet.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Obaidul Islam Soikat said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has consistently emphasized the importance of sports and healthy recreational activities in keeping young people engaged in positive pursuits and away from drug abuse. He added that the event was intended to strengthen ties between Chhatra Dal and general students while fostering a friendly and inclusive campus environment.

Organizer Tamzid Hossain said the spontaneous participation of students was the key to the event’s success. He expressed optimism that more constructive and student-focused programs would be organized in the future to encourage youth engagement, cooperation and positive social values.
