The government is taking the decision to impose area-based restrictions to contain coronavirus outbreak in the coming week. The government has already announced its plan to divide the infected areas into three zones -- red, yellow and green – based on the intensity of the virus outbreak.

The decision was taken as the number of coronavirus cases is increasing at an alarming rate. Red zones will be designated as high-risk areas where everything including religious institutions will be closed and there will be strict law enforcement monitoring.

Police will supervise these areas around the clock to ensure implementation of community quarantine measures. Yellow zones will have relaxes restrictions and green zones will have no restraints due to having lowest numbers of virus cases.

The government has now decided to opt for

“community isolations” instead of isolating

individuals as that may prove more effective.

The government has taken this decision in order to avoid announcing general holidays and slowly restarting the economy. On May 31, the government relaxed the communication shutdown more than two months after it was introduced. However, since then the number of virus cases has increased significantly causing many to worry.

Therefore the government is now planning on taking measures to curb the spread of the virus using various measures. Experts opine that if rise of virus cases continues, the health system may collapse.

The government has now decided to opt for “community isolations” instead of isolating individuals as that may prove more effective.

State Minister for Public Administration Ministry Forhad Hossain, however, said if the situation worsens severely, the government will have no alternative except to impose lockdown and announce general holidays again.

The government is working hard to contain the spread of coronavirus while continuing to ensure that the economy does not shut down completely as that would also have detrimental effects on the country. Everyone must comply with the government’s health guidelines to ensure that the country can overcome this crisis.
