It took 3 to 4 seconds or even less. The line between life and death was very thin. Finally, he dodged/escaped death, but his life was changed, for ever. For Omar Faruq, a young man in his late forties, life would never be the same again, ever. Deputy Director of SCI' HIV program Faruq met with a dreadful accident on 13 April in 2019. The bike carrying him was hit by a truck, which then ran over the lower part of his body smashing his hip bone.
After 9 months in hospitals in Dhaka and Bangkok, eight grueling operations, and hundreds of hours of excruciating pain, Faruq has graduated from bed to wheelchair. But that’s not enough, for he has lived life to the fullest. His two sons and loving wife and hundreds of his well-wishers want to see him back to his former self, the Faruq beaming with life.
